NORTHMINSTER IN ACTION

The church roof was badly in need of repair. Rain water was coming through the ceiling light fixture in the minister's office and there was damage and water stains in many places. When planning repairs, the excessive heating costs were considered, so it was decided to put insulation under the new shingles. After the work was started some extra work had to be done due to structural damage under the flat roof sections.

RECENT EVENTS

A particularly nice Christmas service sas held on Sunday, December 20th. It consisted of several Bible readings, background comentary on the readings, several Carols, Choir anthums, a quartet and a Cornet solo.

NORTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH CELEBRATES 80 YEARS.

Sunday, November 16th.
Rev. Richard Hall, a former minister at Northminster, gave a good message on the importance of building a strong foundation, both literally and in our faith.
Following Worship there was a soup and sandwich luncheon in the Sunday School Hall, provided by the AOTS Men's Club. It was very popular with the 128 seats filled and extra places added, and this produced a profit of $490.

ASHTON MCMASTER, OUR NEW ORGANIST AND MUSIC DIRECTOR

Ashton started his musical career in Millbrook and has held Church Music Director positions in Peterborough, Brantford, Cambridge, Oshawa and Courtice. He has been a clinican, adjudicator and educator for all types of music from classical to theatre organ to light jazz. Welcome Ashton.

                      A TASTE OF INDIA.

The Northminster UCW put on a dinner based on food from India on Saturday, Nov 8th. It started with some nibbles on the table, followed by chicken in a light curry sauce, rice and a mixed fruit salad and a tasty desert. Everyone seemed to enjoy the meal which included Indian music in the background and a floor design with candles at the enterance.

          GOLDEN HARVEST BAZAAR

The golden Harvest Bazaar was held on Saturday, October 25th. It was a great success and in excess of $7500 was raised in support of Northminster.
